Coal Shovels

We manufacture our own range of Coal Shovels and Domestic Hardware for supply to distributors throughout the UK and Eire.

• No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 all steel Shovels (supplied in 20 gauge steel, painted black)
• No. 7 and No. 9 Shovels (supplied in either 20 or 22 gauge steel, painted black with wooden handles)
• also Pokers, Rakes, Coal tongs and Coal Savers (all painted black)

We also manufacture the high quality “Paragon” range of shovels -

• The “0″ Stove Shovels (18 gauge)
• Numbers 1 and 2 Square Shovels in light or heavy gauge (16 or 18 gauge)
• and Tulip Pattern Shovels in light or heavy gauge (16 or 18 gauge)

Some of the above shovels can also be supplied in galvanised steel if required.

We have presses up to a capacity of 200 tonnes

• Small or Long Batch Runs
• Burr-Free Components

We specialise in both low and high volume pressing of metal components and have a large range of presses including many with single action or coil pressing capabilities.

We can produce single pressed components or more complex multi-stage pressings – i.e. components which require a wide range of manufacturing processes and techniques.

Specific finishes can be applied after manufacture.

A wide range of materials can be used in the manufacture of components including:

• Mild Steel
• Stainless Steel
• Brass
• Copper
• Aluminium etc.
• in gauges from 0.5mm to 12mm

Close tolerances can be catered for and assembly work can be undertaken if required.

Matt Pressings & Engineering Ltd. is based in Ditton Priors, Shropshire – a scenic village nestling below the Brown Clee hill, midway between the historic market towns of Bridgnorth and Ludlow.

Matt Pressings is a family run business

We are a family run company that was formed in 1982 by Ray Matthews and today his sons Derrek and Tony are key contacts within the business. Our skilled and highly motivated workforce are committed to producing high quality components.

Our specialist equipment includes presses with capacities ranging from 6 tonnes to 230 tonnes.

We have over 50 power presses plus hydraulic presses, pressbrakes, guillotines, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drilling machines and welders etc. We also have 6 different sizes of vibrating bowls for the deburring of components after manufacture.
